The Ties That Bind

TherapyTimes.com recently wrote an article on forming the patient-therapist bond titled "The Ties That Bind" and I was quoted. The article addressed ways in which therapists connect -- or do not connect -- with patients. I'm featured in a sidebar called "Let's Get Physical."

Here's part of what I told them:

Medical professionals can form a much stronger bond with their patients, he says, “if they remember that some of the things that are routine, or ‘not a big deal’ to them, are [a] really big deal to patients.” Therapists can take this as a learning example when interacting with their patients: just because you know what to expect in regards to a patient’s outcome, the patient may not.
