Quote of the Week: Confidence & Desperation

In honor of Trevor Immelman's win yesterday of the Master's Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georga here's a quote from Zen Golf: Mastering the Mental Game.

If you don't need anything, you can appreciate everything. If you have a sense of humor about how things go, the universe loves to dance with you. The more desperately you need things to come out the want you want them to, the more obstacles arise in the way of your efforts. In golf, if you try too hard to make things come out a particular way (like steering a shot), it usually doesn't work. If you trust the process you're doing to produce the results you intend, good results are more likely to appear. There's a big difference between confident aspiration and unconfident desperation.

By the way, in addition to receiving the traditional green winner's jacket (sports coat, really) Immelman made a cool $1.35 million for his win.

Make it a good week!
