Olympic Observation: Even Vollyball Players Plan
I was watching American's Nicole Branagh and Elaine Youngs defeat the Cuban women's beach volleyball team yesterday and couldn't help noting that the camera kept cutting away to a piece of paper with red, black and blue ink writing on it. According to the sportscaster, their coach had mapped out a game plan for them that included their first 15 plays. Repeatedly, throughout the match they kept coming back to the plan.
Which just goes to prove, I'm not making this stuff up. One of the best ways to control competition-anxiety is to have a plan and then to stick with it.
